Job Title: Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper
Location: Ebute Metta, Lagos
Job Summary
- As a Bookkeeper/Accountant, you will support the finance team in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
- You will work closely with senior team members and be exposed to various aspects of accounting within the hospitality sector.
Responsibilities
- Process and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Ensure accuracy of financial data and perform regular audits
- Assist with the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory reports
- Help maintain accurate ledgers and ensure timely posting of journal entries
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Provide support during the year-end audit process
- Maintain and update accounting files and documentation as required
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience at a similar Restaurant Company, in an an Accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of hospitality accounting practices is a plus.
Salary Range
N100,000 – N150,000 / Month.
