General description of the position:

The HR Intern position is a short-term opportunity, and the intern will be responsible for supporting various Human Resources operations and help ensure the smooth running of our HR processes.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Support HR administration and filing tasks, keeping records organized and up to date.
  • Document performance actions and ensure compliance with relevant organizational policies and labor laws.
  • Help maintain and update personnel files for all employees.
  • Provide logistical support throughout the full recruiting process which includes communicating to Applicants for written test and interview, making arrangement for the Test/Interview venue, guide the invitees where to wait and the venue for the Test/Interview, administering of reference checking disclosure consent and Applicant informed consent (AIC) to the applicant during interview, guide them on how to fill them, collect their valid means of identifications, photocopy them, attach with the completed forms and submit to the HR & Admin Supervisor, Distribute information about open vacancies to all staff and announce on local notice board in a timely manner.
  • Gain hands-on experience in key HR operations while contributing to the team’s success.
  • Adhere to and enforce Tdh administrative regulations and procedures.      
  • Assist in checking staff leave balances, completing the submitted leave request with the staff leave balance Check accuracy of the information filled on the leave form and direct the staff to the appropriate signatories for validation.
  • To raise Payment and Working Advance Request (PWAR) on receipt of the validated Daily worker request, attached with the copies of the relieved staff’s Duty Roaster from the Logistics department and attach the daily worker’s receipt, Timesheet, Daily worker contract and present to the Finance department for payment, a copy should also be filed for reference purposes.
  • In the first week of every month, liaise with the Finance department to obtain and make copies of all approved salary and statutory remittances payment made for the preceding month and file accordingly.
  • Printing and facilitating the signing of National staff pay slips and filing of same monthly.

  • Undertake all other duties that may be determined by the HR & Admin Supervisor
  • Fully comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Policy, PSEA are always upheld.
  • Ensure adherence to Tdh standards and quality requirements in all the project activities.
  • Adhere to Tdh administrative and logistical regulations and procedures.

Job requirements:

Qualifications

  • University Degree, in related field (business or HR management)
  • Extensive working knowledge of Nigerian’s employment laws and Nigerian tax issues.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite and Outlook

Skills

  • Required: Proactive, autonomy, rigorous, organized, planning, analytical, clear communication, work under pressure, ability to facilitate change, persuade and negotiate to reach acceptable compromise/solutions among all levels in the organization
  • Desirable: willingness and motivation to work in an international and intercultural context

Languages:

  • Fluent in English and Hausa(written and spoken).
