Job Description
- A Hotel Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records, transactions, and reporting systems of a hotel.
- They ensure accurate bookkeeping, monitor budgets, prepare financial reports, and support management with data-driven insights to improve profitability and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions (revenue, expenses, bank accounts).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and tax filings.
- Monitor cash flow and hotel budgets to ensure financial health.
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
- Collaborate with department heads to manage departmental budgets.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
- Experience in hospitality or hotel accounting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Opera, or PMS systems).
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and integrity.
