Job Title: Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Technician

Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Technician to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot heavy-duty vehicles used in mining operations.
- The ideal candidate will ensure the optimal performance of trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and other mobile heavy machinery while adhering to safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and mining machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, providing timely solutions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Work closely with equipment operators to address performance concerns and improve reliability.
- Ensure all repairs and modifications comply with industry and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and mechanics to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Order spare parts and maintain an inventory of essential components.
- Follow strict safety protocols and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications & Skills
- Technical diploma or certification in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy motor vehicle maintenance, preferably in mining or industrial settings.
- Expertise in diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of OEM standards and heavy equipment manuals.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and computerised maintenance systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong physical stamina to work in challenging environments.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to heavy machinery.
