Job Title: Head Teacher

Location: Kubwa, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

  • We are seeking for a passionate, experienced, and highly competent Head Teacher to lead its Nursery and Primary Section.
  • The Head teacher will play a crucial role in maintaining high academic standards and promoting the school values.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic and Administrative Leadership
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the Nursery and Primary sections of the school.
  • Drive academic excellence through curriculum implementation, supervision, and instructional improvement.
  • Coordinate and supervise teaching and non-teaching staff in the section.
  • Uphold and enforce effective policies and operational procedures.
  • Lead planning and execution of school programs, calendar activities, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop relevant strategies for improvement.
  • Staff Management: Assist in recruiting, developing and evaluating teachers to maintain a high performing team.

Academic and Pastoral Oversight:

  • Monitor pupils’ academic progress, welfare, and discipline.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Identify and implement strategies for early childhood and primary education improvement.
  • Promote professional development and mentorship among teaching staff.
  • Liaise effectively with parents, guardians, and stakeholders.

General Duties:

  • Represent the Nursery and Primary section in school-wide decision-making.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with educational standards and inspection bodies.
  • Contribute to the spiritual and moral growth of pupils, in line with the school’s core values.
  • Maintain high levels of communication and collaboration with the school administrator, Secondary School leadership and Head of school.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or related field.
  • A Master’s degree (M.Ed. or equivalent) in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related discipline is necessary with TRCN
  • Minimum of 12 years of experiencein teaching and school leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior role ( Head Teacher).
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian and international curricula.
  • Proven competence in staff supervision, curriculum design, lesson observation, and pupil assessment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Tech-savvy with experience in using modern educational technology tools.
