Job Title: Head, Production Unit

Location: Enugu

Job Summary

  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day production activities and ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive production plans aligned with business goals and customer demands.
  • Create detailed production schedules, considering resource availability, lead times, and production capacity.
  • Implement quality control procedures and monitor product quality metrics to identify and address issues.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary.
  • Assess and manage production resources including raw materials, equipment, manpower, and budget.
  • Lead and motivate a team of production personnel, including supervisors, operators, and technicians.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, tracking expenses against targets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements to optimize production costs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to optimize production efficiency.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies to drive innovation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management or related field.
  • Proven 5 years work experience as a Head of Production or Senior Level Production Staff especially in the water products space.
  • Proven managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of production operations.
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise as well as production ethics.
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Impressive organisation and efficiency skills. Multitasking and time-management skills.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
