Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Worker

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
The Grounds Maintenance Worker is required to:

  • Cut grass, trim hedges, and maintain landscaped areas around the facility using appropriate machinery.
  • Keep driveways, walkways, and access roads clear of debris, litter, and obstructions.
  • Perform general outdoor housekeeping duties, including sweeping, raking, and trash removal.
  • Ensure proper disposal of green waste and other non-hazardous materials.
  • Inspect outdoor areas regularly to identify and report hazards or maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Support the HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) team in keeping the external areas compliant with safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain and store tools and landscaping equipment in good working order.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in preparing outdoor areas for inspections, drills, or emergency readiness as needed.
  • Report hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors.
  • Clean and maintain good housekeeping at the workshop.
  • Maintain outdoor Safety Markings, furniture, signage, and decorative elements.
  • Inspect fences, gates, and outdoor structures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years experience in gardening or grounds maintenance.
  • Familiar with lawn care.
  • Ability to operate gardening tools and machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, hedge trimmers).
  • Physically fit and able to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and a good sense of aesthetics.
  • Basic understanding of safety practices when using chemicals or equipment.
  • Trustworthy, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

Salary
N70,000 – N100,000 per month.
