Job Summary
- We are seeking a Grants Assistant /Grants Associate for a project designed to provide small businesses with the support they need to achieve sustainable growth and financial resilience , with explicit focus on women and entrepreneurs of color .
- This program will bring together community financial institutions (CFIs), networks of business support organizations (BSOs), and technology platforms to empower underserved small businesses to overcome common roadblocks.
- These include getting capital, growing net works and know-how , and going digital .
Responsibilities
- The Grants Assistant /Grants Associate will support the full grants cycle, including solicitation, application review, due diligence, performance monitoring, and close-out procedures.
- The Grants Assistant /Grants Associate will work with the Grants Manager to review proposals, writ e grants, maintain grant documentation, conduct due diligence, track grantee status reports, and provide regular assistance and troubleshooting for grantees.
- The Grants Assistant /Grants Associate will also work closely with the finance and procurement departments and other stakeholders to ensure efficient grant procedures across the grant cycle.
Other Responsibilities include:
- Support the full cycle of grants, from pre-award proposal review and due diligence checks to monitoring /compliance visits and reporting during implementation , and to conducting close-out procedures and audits.
- Assist the Grants Manager in reviewing applications and proposals, by locating or requesting necessary supporting documentation from potential grantees
- Conduct due diligence and vetting checks on grantees
- Generate and maintain documentation of all grants including grant agreements, grant amendments/addendums, and other grants-related documents till grants close-out and proactively identify errors and/or missing documentation to ensure compliance.
- Provide support to the Grants Manager with regards to regular monitoring and tracking of grant budgets, reporting requirements, and compiling financial reports
- Maintain and update logs of grantee status reports
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of meetings or workshops with grant recipients
- Work with the finance department to manage grant disbursement and payments
- Provide regular assistance and troubleshooting for grantees throughout the grant award process
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, plus at least 1 year of work experience, preferably with philanthropic organizations or nonprofits. Internships can count towards work experience.
- Ability to respond effectively to the time sensitive inquiries.
- An extremely well organized , detail-oriented, self-directed individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
