We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Fire Truck Operator
Location: Sabon Wuse, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Truck Operator to join our team.
- The candidate will be responsible for operating fire trucks and other emergency vehicles, ensuring the safety and efficiency of fire suppression and rescue operations.
- The role requires excellent driving skills, quick decison-making, and ability to work effectively under pressure in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate fire trucks and emergency vehicles to and from fire and rescue scenes.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure functionality and readiness.
- Assist firefighters with deploying hoses, operating pumps, and other equipments during emergencies.
- Conduct inspections and report any mechanical or operational issues with vehicles or equipment.
- Participate in training sessions, drills and safety workshops to maintain operational readiness.
- Adhere to safety protocols and operational standards during emergency responses.
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle maintenance, fuel usuage, and incident reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND, OND or SSCE in related field.
- 3 – 5 years of experience operating heavy vehicles.
- Certification or training in firefighting, first aid or emergency response.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance amd fire suppression systems.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physically fit and able to handle strenous tasks.
Work Condition
- Willigness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to potentially hazardous environment during emergency operations.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in challenging weather conditions.
