The Incorporated Trustees of Sexual Offences Awareness & Response Initiative [hereinafter referred to as “Sexual Offences Awareness and Response Initiative (SOAR)], a local non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on addressing sexual violence against children, is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill in the position of Finance Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the financial management of donor funded projects.
This position is being recruited strictly on merit for the best candidate that can add value to our organization.
Position: Finance Officer
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance roles in NGO donor funded projects
Location: Abuja, FCT
Duration: Full time
Expected monthly Remuneration: N160,000 – N200,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the effective, efficient and timely financial transaction posting and review for use in relevant financial analysis and reports
- Ensure proper budget tracking and monitoring for effective project management decision making.
- Prepare periodic financial reports for management and funders.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports.
- Support successful external audit of SOAR Initiative’s corporate finances yearly.
- Ensure compliance with all required statutory deductions and remittances
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Effective people management skills in coordinating Team members
- B.Sc. or HND in Finance/Accounting with second class upper/ Upper credit
- Experience in developing financial reports and budgets for management and institutional donors.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Quick book accounting software for accurate financial reporting and analysis
- Work experience in an audit firm is an added advantage
