We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance and Grant Coordinator

Location: Yola, Adamawa
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting: The Finance & Grant Coordinator will report to the Finance & Grant Specialist
Supervision: The Finance & Grant Coordinator will supervise the Finance & Grant Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Finance & Grant Officer to ensure timely and accurate posting and recording of transactions in the Odoo accounting system;
  • Ensure that vendors and all service providers upon receipt of payments, acknowledge and send an official receipt;
  • Income Recognition in the Accounting software Odoo.
  • Ensure that all prepayment accounts, accruals, and grants are managed.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization’s policy and procedure as regards filing and documentation and may recommend other approaches for a seamless filing and retrieval of documents.
  • Ensure assets are properly recognized and categorized accordingly.
  • Compliance with the internal policies and procedures regarding donors and timely reporting to the Head of Finance.
  • Prepare both Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual financial reports and present it to the Head of Finance for review.
  • Preparations of both bi-annual and annual financial presentation documents to the Head of Finance review towards team meetings.
  • Manage the organization’s Enterprise Resource System, providing monthly financial reports from the system.
  • Coordinate the reporting of budget versus actual reporting in liaison with the Grants and Compliance Officer before submitting to the Head of Finance.
  • Monitor cash flow/funding Pipelines.
  • Ensure that internal control processes are in place and active to mitigate financial mismanagement.
  • Work closely with the Head of finance and program team for budget preparation, NN annual budget, and Donor budget.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations are prepared and approved for documentation.
  • Work closely with the Financial Service Provider (POS vendor) service delivery to ensure regular compliance with the terms of the service agreement and ensure that all liquidations meet expectations.
  • Capacity building for the Finance Officer, Compliance, Finance Intern, and other staff on the importance of compliance with policy and documentation.
  • Work closely with the Grant and Compliance Officer to conduct periodic reviews of internal control processes to ensure compliance (Internal Audit).
  • Other duties as assigned on an ad hoc basis by the Head of Finance.

Job Requirement & Qualification

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field with 7years of experience; Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field with minimum of 5years of experience is highly preferred;
  • ICAN/ACCA/CPA or other recognized professional accounting qualification is a must;
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management of large and complex donor funded projects
  • Expertise with procedures required for adequate planning, monitoring, and re- aligning of complex budgets;
  • Prior experience in managing grants under contract required;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and/or experiences in accounting, financial planning and management, and procurement, among other management support areas/functions;
  • Familiarity with USG Cost Accounting Standards; Extensive knowledge of computerized accounting systems, accounting software and Microsoft Officer;
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software preferred;
  • Possess excellent organizational and analytical skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required, and knowledge of local languages such as Hausa is an advantage.
