Job Title: Field Data Collector
Location: Ondo
Description
- The purpose of the terms of reference (TOR) is to engage research personnel that will gather month-36 net durability data for cohort campaign nets and retrieve samples of ITNs for insecticidal effectiveness studies.
Specific Tasks
- Will be required to attend training prior to survey.
- Carries out data collection in cohort households. These include:
- Obtaining written consents
- Administering interviews with heads of households
- Collecting ITN physical integrity data by collecting data on each net owned by each household
- Retrieving of sampled nets (if the cohort household has been selected for this purpose), by labelling the exit and entry (“door”) side of the net before retrieval, taking a photo of the unique identifier on the label, and packing the net
- Giving out new replacement nets
- Takes good care of the mobile device issued for data collection and ensures the device’s battery is kept charged.
- Uploads the data to the server at the required frequency according to relevant guidelines.
- Ensures confidentiality of respondents’ personal data during and after interviews.
- Reports to the team leader any issues and helps to solve problems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in conducting household surveys.
- A minimum of BSc Degree in Health-related discipline and Social Sciences.
- Experience in electronic data collection systems such as SurveyCTO or ODK.
- Good knowledge of the English language.
- Ability to give attention to detail.
- Excellent proficiency in both the Yoruba and Ijaw languages.
- For this position, previous working experience with MC and in SMC are added advantages.
