Job Title: Farm Manager

Location: Atosin-Idanre, Ondo

Description

  • Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our School farm.

Responsibilities
Farm Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive farm management plans, including production, financial, and personnel strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate farm performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of agricultural workers, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and employee development.

Agricultural Operations:

  • Oversee all aspects of agricultural production, including planting, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
  • Manage farm inputs, such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, to optimize yields and minimize costs.
  • Implement sustainable farming practices to protect the environment and promote long-term soil health.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage farm budgets, tracking expenses and revenue to ensure profitability.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and buyers to secure favorable terms and maximize returns.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards for agricultural products.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain product consistency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in farm management.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, including crop production, livestock management, and soil health.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in agricultural management software.
