
The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) is the umbrella organisation for the engineering profession in Nigeria. It looks after the professional needs of all Engineers in their vide spectrum of specializations through structured initiatives in membership and other high professional standard and ethical practices.
We are recruiting competent, self-motivated and result-oriented candidates to fill the position below:
Job Title: Facility Manager
Location: National Engineering Centre, Central Business District – Abuja (FCT)
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the maintenance of all facilities and equipment within the Secretariat complex
- Handling emergencies and unplanned incidents, such as repairs and safety issues.
- Monitoring expenses and controlling costs related to facility management.
- Monitoring energy usage and implementing energy-saving measures
- Conducting regular safety inspections and drills, in conjunction with the HSE Manager.
- Communicating policies, procedures and important updates related to facility management.
- Identifying opportunities for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
- Other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Corporate Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
- Registration with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria)
- A Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA will be an added advantage
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years post-graduation work experience in engineering or the built environment
- At least 3 of the 10 years should be in a Facility Management position
Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Budgeting and financial management expertise
- Knowledge of facility management software and systems
- Leadership and team management skills
- Ability to endure unpredictable environmental conditions at the work place (such as varying temperature, humidity, etc.)
- Development and mastery of facility inspections and site visits strategies.
