Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Management Officer to oversee the smooth operation and maintenance of our large cement factory’s residential staff estate and the environmental management of the factory grounds.
- This critical role requires a strong leader with a proven track record in housekeeping, facility management, and staff estate management, coupled with excellent people management skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
- You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of living for our staff within the residential estate while also contributing to the overall environmental sustainability of our factory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Management (Factory Grounds):
- Contribute to the environmental sustainability of the cement factory by supporting initiatives related to waste management, landscaping, and grounds upkeep.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
- Oversee the maintenance of outdoor areas, including gardens, walkways, and parking lots.
- Implement and monitor programs to promote environmental awareness among staff.
Residential Estate Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the staff residential estate, comprising 100+ housing units, ensuring a comfortable and well-maintained living environment for residents.
- Manage all aspects of housekeeping, including cleaning, waste disposal, laundry services (if applicable), and pest control.
- Supervise and mentor a team of estate staff, including maintenance workers, cleaners, and other support personnel.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for buildings, grounds, and equipment within the estate.
- Manage estate budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness in all operations.
- Address resident concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Enforce estate rules and regulations.
General Facility Management:
- Conduct regular inspections of both the residential estate and factory grounds to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards.
- Manage vendor relationships for services such as cleaning, landscaping, and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of facility management policies and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management, Estate Management, or a related field.
- Equivalent practical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in facility management, with a strong focus on residential estate management and environmental management.
- Demonstrated experience managing a large residential estate (100+ units) and a team of employees.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping best practices, maintenance procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent people management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and negotiate with vendors.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in basic office applications and experience with SAP or similar ERP software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the cement or construction industry.
- Certification in facility management or a related field.
