We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Facilities Officer 

Location: Surulere, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Facilities Officer will oversee the day-to-day maintenance and smooth functioning of the center’s facilities in Surulere.
  • The role includes handling electrical and mechanical systems, supervising generator maintenance, coordinating with power distribution authorities, and supporting general facility operations including plumbing, HVAC, security systems, and vendor supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the upkeep of all electrical systems, ensuring prompt repair and maintenance to prevent downtime.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot diesel generators; track fuel usage and schedule routine servicing.
  • Act as liaison with electricity distribution companies (e.g., PHCN, EKEDC) for issue resolution, reconnections, and load management.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the building and facilities including plumbing, lighting, HVAC, security systems, and general infrastructure.
  • Log and respond to facility-related complaints or breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor the use of utilities and support energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Supervise service providers, cleaners, and technicians working on site.
  • Support the planning and execution of minor renovations or repairs within the facility.
  • Maintain a maintenance calendar and report monthly on completed tasks, risks, and facility needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations as it relates to the facility and its equipment.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • HND or B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
  • At least 2 – 5 years’ hands-on experience in facility management or electrical maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of generator systems, electrical installations, and local power utility interface.
  • Familiarity with general maintenance (plumbing, air conditioning, carpentry, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies during or outside work hours.
  • Certification in facility management or electrical safety is a plus.
  • Close proximity to Surulere is highly desired.
