Job Summary
- We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to lead food preparation and ensure culinary excellence in our kitchen.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diverse cuisines, exceptional kitchen management skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality meals according to restaurant or hotel standards.
- Supervise and guide kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and proper food handling.
- Design and update menus in collaboration with the executive chef or management, considering seasonal availability and customer preferences.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining quality, taste, and presentation.
- Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and ensure optimal use of ingredients to reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate junior kitchen staff to maintain a skilled team.
- Oversee cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment maintenance.
- Stay updated with food trends and incorporate innovative techniques into the menu.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure customer satisfaction and address any kitchen-related issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a chef, preferably in an hotel.
- Reside Ogba, Ojodu, Iyana Ipaja, Ketu axis
- Culinary school diploma or professional certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, international cuisines, and kitchen equipment.
- Excellent leadership and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
