Job Title: ETP Operator

Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The ETP Operator is responsible for overseeing the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant. 
• This role includes supervising ETP helpers, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating with other departments to support process optimization and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor ETP processes using PLC/DCS systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Verify availability and readiness of raw materials (e.g., dosing chemicals), utilities, equipment, and PPE.
• Monitor ETP and wastewater treatment parameters, chemical consumption, and in-process quality.
• Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed and compliance with Pollution Control Board norms.
• Report operational issues to the WTP/ETP In-Charge and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Provide on-the-job training for new and existing staff to maintain operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for resource planning and to meet production goals.
• Participate actively in preventive maintenance and safety-related activities.
• Ensure adherence to hygiene and safety protocols across the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Chemical Engineering
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating and managing Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP)
• Strong understanding of ETP operations and environmental compliance
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and team coordination
• Ability to interpret and follow technical instructions and safety procedures
