Job Title: ERP Officer – Materials Management (AfCDC)

Purpose of Job
- The ERP Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Material Management (MM) module within the SAP ERP system at Africa CDC.
- The officer will provide technical and functional support to supply chain, procurement, travel, and warehouse functions to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across the supply chain division.
Specific Responsibilities
- Support the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of the Material Management module in the SAP ERP system.
- Ensure seamless functioning of the SAP MM module with procurement, travel, and warehouse functions.
- Provide technical assistance for SAP ERP-related issues, troubleshooting, and resolving system errors.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to streamline sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management processes using SAP MM.
- Facilitate the automation of procurement workflows within the SAP ERP system.
- Monitor data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with procurement policies within SAP.
- Support warehouse operations through effective inventory tracking and management within the SAP ERP system.
- Ensure real-time visibility of stock levels, movements, and audit trails using SAP tools.
- Assist in optimizing inventory control processes and reporting mechanisms within SAP.
- Assist the travel team in managing logistical data related to travel requisitions, bookings, and expense tracking within the SAP ERP system.
- Ensure accurate recording of travel-related procurement and budget allocations in SAP
- Provide training and technical support to end-users on SAP ERP functionalities specific to the MM module.
- Develop user manuals, SOPs, and training materials to enhance SAP ERP literacy among staff.
- Generate periodic reports from SAP ERP to support decision-making in procurement, travel, and warehouse management.
- Analyze SAP ERP data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Performs any other related duties as may be assigned.
Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in SAP ERP system administration, with a focus on the Material Management module.
OR
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience SAP ERP system administration, with a focus on the Material Management module.
- Proven experience supporting procurement, travel, and warehouse functions within an SAP ERP environment.
- Experience working in international organizations, public health institutions, or supply chain operations is preferred
- Professional certification in SAP ERP with a focus on the Material Management module (SAP MM).
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in one of the AU Official working languages (Arabic English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese and Spanish) and fluency in another AU language(s) is an added advantage.
- Strong technical expertise in SAP ERP systems, particularly the Material Management (MM) module.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and system integrity within SAP Ability to work in a multicultural environment and relate well with a broad array of individuals both within and outside of the AU.
- Problem solving aptitudes with an excellent analytical, solution orientation and risk management with ability to draw on experiences for providing evidence-based decision making.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build good working relationships and to work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues of different divisions, departments and institutions to achieve organizational goals. Â
- Excellent drafting, reporting and presentation skills

Tenure of Appointment:
- The Appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of one (1) year, of which the first three (3) months will be considered as a probationary period.
- Thereafter, the contract may be renewed for a similar period subject to funding availability, satisfactory performance and agreed deliverables.Â

Remuneration
The salary attached to the position is an annual lump-sum of US$ 85,212.07 (P2 Step 5) inclusive of all allowances for internationally recruited staff, and US$ 66,751.81 inclusive of all allowances for locally recruited staff of the African Union Commission.
