Job Title: Enumerator

Location: Nigeria

Purpose of the Position

  • The CCV-HFAT initiative is designed to strengthen the climate resilience of healthcare facilities by deploying a digitized climate vulnerability and impact tool to assess Primary Healthcare Facility vulnerabilities to climate change. Focused on key climate risks such as floods, droughts, and heatwaves, this initiative will be implemented in Kano, Borno, and the FCT. The initiative will facilitate real-time data collection and analysis, enabling healthcare facilities to manage climate risks more effectively. The role of the Enumerator is essential in supporting this effort by collecting accurate, real-time data, thereby contributing to eHA’s mission of using technology to tackle public health challenges and improve the resilience of healthcare systems against climate impacts.

What you’ll do
The Enumerators will be responsible for:

  • Data Collection: Using mobile devices to gather information from healthcare facilities, following the WHO Checklist guidelines and the CCV-HFAT digital tool.
  • Mobile Tool Utilization: Efficiently navigating and operating the CCV-HFAT mobile app to input data accurately.
  • On-Site Visits: Conducting on-site visits to various healthcare facilities in the designated states (Kano, Borno, and FCT) to collect relevant data on their climate vulnerabilities.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with local healthcare staff and facility managers to collect comprehensive and accurate data.
  • Reporting: Providing detailed reports on the data collection process, including any challenges encountered and potential recommendations.
  • Real-Time Analysis: Monitoring and assessing data input to ensure consistency and validity, collaborating with the project team to address any data gaps or discrepancies.

Key Tasks:

  • Attend training sessions on the CCV-HFAT tool and data collection methods.
  • Perform structured interviews and administer questionnaires as part of the vulnerability assessment.
  • Ensure data quality by following up with healthcare facilities when needed.
  • Collaborate with state health boards and other relevant stakeholders during fieldwork.
  • Maintain communication with the project lead, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.

Who you are
Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a health-related field, data collection, statistics, or any social science discipline.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in field data collection or conducting surveys.
  • Experience in using mobile-based data collection tools or applications is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and digital apps for data entry.
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of local language is an asset.

Attributes:

  • Willingness to travel to remote areas and conduct fieldwork in diverse environments.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, maintaining flexibility under tight deadlines.
