About Us
Borno Women Development Initiative (BOWDI) is a Women-led, registered Nongovernmental, Non-profit Organization in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. BOWDI has been active in Humanitarian and development activities in the Northeast, especially in education, peace-building, advocacy, food security, livelihood, and protection. The organization has been registered in Nigeria since 2014 and has worked with state agencies like the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), State Ministry of Education, State Ministry of Youth and Sport, and State Ministry of Women Affairs (MWASD) to carry out its activities. BOWDI also partnered with several UN agencies, INGOs, and NNGOs in implementing people’s centered projects. For the past years, we have implemented several projects ranging from Food Security, Nutrition and Livelihood, Human Rights, Peace-building/Conflict Management, Gender, Reproductive Health, Protection (Gender Based Violence, Child Protection, and EORE), and Environmental Management (climate change, forest conservation, and waste management).
Over the years, we have received funding from the EU, USAID, UNWFP, UNDP, UNHCR, FAO, ACF, the German government, and Malala Fund directly or through other development and humanitarian partners.

Position Overview
The Warehouse/Logistics Officer is overall responsible for providing the supply chain needs/requirements of the project including procuring all program supplies and services, accounting for all assets, managing stocks, and managing fleet concerns.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
BOWDI operates in a full-spectrum programming. This means that the organization implements its programs in both Development and Humanitarian. All staff may be requested to support a humanitarian response as the need arises.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

Other Reporting and Coordination Responsibilities: Communicates with the Safety Officer, Finance Officer, Operations team in BOWDI, Admin Assistant and other stakeholders working for the project
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Delivery
- Coordinates to all units for timely program implementation.
- Maintain and monitor the accuracy of inventory and timely replenishment.
- Ensure all documentations related to responsibility are accurately processed, distributed and released to all concerned in a timely manner.
- Ensures all responsibilities are complied with any company policy, systems, and industry.
- Ensure that workings are compliance with BOWDI standard and policy
- Invoicing / Billing to support payment process
- Report all warehouse activities on monthly for stock inventory, fee and pallets kept at warehouses both internal and external.
- To ensure physical stock take correct in compared to system and give explanation for variances.
- Accountable for the compliant processing of all procurement of program supplies, office supplies, training materials, training venues, catering services, among others that are needed for the emergency response operations according to the Procurement Policy
- Responsible for safekeeping the hard copies and soft copies of the procurement packages, asset management forms, fleet management forms, warehousing documents, distribution reports, and other pertinent documents relating to supply chain.
- Follow up with suppliers e.g. delivery schedules of goods and other procurement related concerns. This includes coordinating with the suppliers/service providers for the delivery and transportation of the goods for the program.
- He/she is also responsible for giving feedback from the program staff to the supplier and vice versa.
- Accountable for the accounting, maintenance of kitting of goods/equipment for the program. This includes keeping and monitoring warehousing records of all goods that are received and dispatched.
- Identify what goods/equipment needs to be replenished, purchased and/or dispersed.
- Maintain a file or record of suppliers through the Supplier Database, ensuring that they are compliant with Child Safeguarding and Fraud Policies of BOWDI.
- Ensures proper documentation of all Supply Chain processes.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the Procurement Tracker for all procurements.
- Responsible for submission of the Supply Chain KPI Report to the Logistics Manager.
- Issues assets to staff and tracks assets assigned to staff through the Asset Register.
- Oversees fleet concerns that includes the daily movement of the program and support staff, mobilization of program supplies for distribution and for trainings/workshops, observance of safety & security protocols, management of drivers (both BOWDI drivers and rented vehicle drivers), and submission of the monthly Fleet Analysis.
- Responsible for keeping track of all supplies received and dispatched through the Warehouse Tracker and for keeping documentation for these movements intact, including acknowledgement from beneficiaries for distributed goods/kits.
- Assist and accommodate the implementation team in all of the administrative and logistics support needed.
Administration
- Ensures the appropriate use and security of assets and equipment assigned to the project office area.
- Ensuring proper housekeeping of physical and electronic files and project assets are accounted for and deployed as appropriate
- Endorsing to a wider audience of lessons learned
- Performs other duties and responsibilities delegated by the heads within his or her capacity and BOWDI Mandate
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Finalize reports on the status of the available and consumed supplies including funding source Institutional Learning
- Contribute to organizational learning and enhanced capacity in planned intervention and activities by providing feedback to the team on things and areas that are to be improved
- Outlines recommendations for key issues that arise during the project implementation
Security and Safety
- Contribute to the running monitor of the prevailing security conditions by gathering security related information.
- Assist in ensuring that the necessary measures are in place to ensure security, safety, health, and well-being BOWDI staff, and other visitors; and that security standards and procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Support partnering efforts and opportunities with the Local Government Units, other government line agencies and structures, NGOs, and other stakeholders through consultation, information sharing when necessary.
- Provides comments and suggestions when deemed necessary to all other activities such as resource mobilization, project conceptualization, fund sourcing, and other provide related strategic endeavors as required of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- University degree holder
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft word and excel application
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in handling logistics and procurement
- Effective communication skills, both in written and verbal forms in order to establish effective relationships with a wide range of audiences, including at a geographical distance
- Ability to think and act fast
- High flexibility
- Strong sense of urgency and work ethic.

Required Travel:
Willingness to travel 20% of the time to remote areas of the country.
