Slum2school Africa is a volunteer-driven developmental organization with a vision to transform society by empowering disadvantaged children to realize their full potential. Founded in 2012, we recognize that there are severe shortcomings in the educational sector in Africa and in this area, seek to improve the lives of Africa’s most precious resource – her children. We provide educational scholarships, create learning spaces and provide other psychosocial support for disadvantaged and vulnerable children in slums and indigent communities through our team of dedicated staff who possess our culture, competence, commitment, and have the right character.

Job Title: Education and Innovation Manager

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Description 

  • We are seeking an Education and Innovation Manager to lead and oversee her education and innovation programs, driving positive change in underserved communities.
  • The Education and Innovation Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education for underserved communities in leading educational initiatives, developing innovative approaches, and collaborating with stakeholders to create lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive education plans, strategies, and goals in alignment with Slum2School’s mission.
  • Design and implement effective educational programs catering to the needs of slum-dwelling children.
  • Ensure compliance with educational standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and timelines to achieve objectives.
  • Lead the development of tailored educational curricula for slum communities.
  • Collaborate with educators to create engaging learning materials.
  • Foster innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote community involvement.
  • Establish partnerships with institutions and organizations to leverage resources.
  • Review program performance and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Raise learners as advocates in conferences and industry events.
  • Organize community events and awareness campaigns.

Reporting Relationship:

  • The Education and Innovative Manager will report to the Executive Director.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Specialization in Early Childhood Education, Education Management, or related fields.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Experience in program design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluating programs.
  • Community engagement experience.

  • Strong understanding of education principles and curriculum development.
  • Innovative thinking and familiarity with educational challenges.
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and program improvement.
  • Competence in program planning and evaluation.
