Job Title: Economics Teacher

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Economics and Business Studies based on Nigerian and/or British curriculum standards.
  • Develop students’ analytical, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking skills.
  • Prepare students for internal and external examinations (WAEC, NECO, IGCSE, etc.) with high success rates.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Integrate real-life business and economic case studies to enhance learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning.
  • Participate in co-curricular and enrichment activities related to business, finance, and entrepreneurship.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and uphold professional and academic standards.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.

Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Education, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional teaching qualification (TRCN registration preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years teaching Economics and/or Business Studies at secondary school level.
  • Proven record of preparing students for WAEC, NECO, and/or IGCSE with strong results.
  • Experience in a Lagos private school environment with exposure to Nigerian and/or British curriculum preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Strong subject mastery in Economics and Business Studies.
  • Ability to teach abstract economic theories with practical, relatable examples.
  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in integrating ICT into teaching.
