Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is a local not-for-profit, faith-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). One of WEWE’s core ideologies is to be the most financially clean and compliant local NGO in Nigeria and Africa. We want to prove to the world that not all Nigerian NGOs are corrupt, and we want to be an example (An Ambassador) of a credible NGO in Nigeria and Africa.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Director of Program
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full Time
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- S/he will work closely with the Executive Director to provide technical and managerial oversight for programs, including the development and implementation of the quarterly, and annual work plans, and annual reports
- S/he will assist the Executive Director in managing day-to-day technical activities in collaboration with other stakeholders and state offices where WEWE’s projects are being implemented
- S/he will ensure innovations, quality improvement, development, and implementation of work plans
- S/he will assist the Executive Director in collaborating with relevant governmental agencies, donors, and CBOs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Master’s in Public Health, Social Work, Community Development Studies, or any Social Science/related field.
- A doctorate in a relevant course will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in community development work preferably in the field of OVC which includes 5 to 7 years of relevant supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with Local and International donor organizations, NGOs, and CBOs is required.
- Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.
- Knowledge of implementing USAID project activities and proven skills in management, supervision, and leadership.
- Demonstrated expertise in building effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision.
