Job Title: Deputy General Manager – Physical Security

Location: Lagos

Job Objective

  • To lead and coordinate the physical security strategy, operations, and governance framework across all group companies, ensuring protection of personnel, assets, operations, and reputation. 
  • The incumbent will drive a standardized, proactive security culture in highly sensitive, risk-prone industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify security risks across assets, infrastructure, and operations; recommend mitigation strategies at the policy and operational level.
  • Supervise security operations at manufacturing plants, mines, power stations, warehouses, and administrative offices.
  • Ensure optimal deployment and utilization of manpower, equipment, and systems across all business verticals.
  • Conduct threat assessments for critical infrastructure and high-risk geographies.
  • Establish and maintain incident response protocols
  • Maintain a real-time incident MIS dashboard and drive post-incident analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive reporting systems for incidents, compliance, manpower deployment, and security KPIs.
  • Monitor intelligence feeds from internal/external sources for emerging threats.
  • Present monthly/quarterly security reports and risk dashboards to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory security norms (Factories Act, Mines Act, Explosives Act, etc.)
  • Conduct regular internal audits and third-party security assessments.
  • Drive standardization of SOPs, guard force performance reviews, and security control audits.
  • Lead evaluation, empanelment, and performance monitoring of security service providers across group companies.
  • Prepare and control the annual physical security budget; drive cost optimization without compromising safety.
  • Design and implement a centralized training calendar covering SOPs, emergency drills, behavioral skills, and leadership for security staff.
  • Promote awareness programs for employees and contractors on safety and security protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in any discipline; preference for candidates with Armed Forces/Paramilitary/Police background or professional security certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP).
  • 12–18 years of experience in industrial/plant security with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-location operations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management across levels.
  • Expertise in physical security technology and integrated command center operations.
  • Ability to handle complex risk environments and sensitive situations.
  • Proficient in data analysis, reporting tools, and security management platforms.
