We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Deputy Field Piping & Layout Manager

Location: Bonny Site, Rivers
Job Type: Part Time

Job Summary

  • Perform technical tasks assigned by the Piping and Layout Lead, related to design, verification, or study activities
  • Interface with other Project Specialists, Designers, and Draftsman
  • Coordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the company

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop technological know-how and Commercial support    
  • Feasibility, Bidding phase/Commercial proposal development, Bill of material, Plot plan layout proposal, and Support lead to define man-hour and cost estimate       

Project Execution:

  • Ensure the Piping and Layout Engineering support to different projects  
  • Ensure the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of project quality requirements and contractual obligations      
  • Analyse technical documents (e.g. specifications, calculation notes, drawings) to assess the scope of the studies required and the potential risks   
  • Seek solutions that can bring overall savings to the project 
  • Estimate quantities or validate estimations done by another specialist on the team 
  • Check all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design reports, technical specifications, drawings under responsibility   
  • Write the Piping and Layout  methodologies/Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines       
  • Ensure the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of project quality requirements and contractual obligations.     
  • Analyse project technical documents to validate consistency between the budget, resources, and means allocated for the work completion and the targets to be met
  • Organize the work of the team under responsibility    
  • Define and follow up on the planning of resource mobilization   
  • Monitor and report actual progress including 3D/check for Discipline activities, including control of manhours and delivered documents
  • Control the input data for team activities and check/review all documents issued by the team       
  • Attend to internal review activities and inter-discipline check meetings  
  • Provide technical support to Project Group      
  • Provide technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting, and Construction activities included in the scope of work
  • Supervise the writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations
  • Inform permanently the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical financial or delay risk
  • Feed the Piping and Layout Department improvement system by reverting the lessons learned during the project       

Construction and start-up:

  • Participate in test circuit verification and field engineering during construction activities.
  • Assist, when necessary, with engineering adjustment on site, and  Material management at the site.

Educational Qualifications and Skills

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant Engineering Degree.  A master’s degree or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
