Job Title: Data Officer – Qualitative Survey
Locations: Abuja (FCT) , Anambra, Borno, Kano, Lagos and Rivers
Purpose of Assignment
- Data officer will be responsible for review of the collected data for accuracy and quality. The officer will collate all submissions from all state data supervisors to ensure accuracy and quality data across all data collection sites.
- Identify and proffer solutions observed in the transcribed data files.
- Identify patterns, themes, and insights from open-ended responses.
- Maintain secure and organized data storage systems.
- Provide support to field data enumerators and data supervisors on data collection.
- Perform second level review of transcribed data and code interviews using software like NVivo or Atlas.Ti
- Conduct draft analysis of themes related to malaria prevention commodity demand, supply, barriers to access, and users’ perceptions
- Maintain secure data storage and documentation systems
- Ensure compliance with research methodology in data collection.
- Ensure quality and effective data management processes.
- Work in coordination with the Research Specialist to ensure survey database accurately captures and addresses the research objectives for easy tracking and reporting to donor and national stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must have a Masters’ Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or any data analytics related field with at least 5 years’ experience on qualitative research on malaria prevention, and case management.
- Strong data management skills, unique analytical and report writing skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management skills.
- Knowledge of malaria data management and quantitative report writing
- Knowledge of data analysis especially quantitative data analysis and interpretation
- Proficiency in qualitative analysis tools (e.g. NVivo, Atlas TI and MAXQDA)
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and MS Office), Microsoft SQL server and statistical packages.
- Good understanding and compliance with research ethics and data management.
Deliverables:
- Review of KII, IDI, FGD qualitative data collected on field daily and highlight concerns in the data and provide recommendations to improve the subsequent data collection activities.
- Submission of preliminary reports of challenges and lessons learnt from each state of implementation
- Submit final data management consultancy report to the research specialist.
