As a major player in the social and solidarity economy, the French Red Cross manages a network of more than 600 institutions and services in the health, medico-social and training sectors. It is also the head of 12 regional institutes for health and social training.
At’international, the CRF intervenes in 16 countries alongside National Societies and 2 regional platforms (PIRAC and PIROI), on the following themes: Health and Disaster risk management.

This is reflected in an articulation of the activities of’urgency, post-emergency, crisis exit and reconstruction aimed at the best efficiency. Intervention of the CRf in the area
The Democratic Republic of Congo, the second largest country in’Africa, is home today to more than 90 million’habitants. A rapidly growing population facing a protracted multisectoral crisis. The challenges are immense, both at the epidemiological level, from the’access to the’eau, to the’ sanitation and the health, that’ in terms of protection or’ food insecurity.
The French Red Cross has been working in the DRC since 1979 as part of a partnership with the Red Cross of the Democratic Republic of Congo (CRRDC). From the 2000s, CRf has a delegation (permanent office) in Kinshasa, and mainly conducts health projects in’ex-Bandundu. From 2018, the’organisation is intensifying its interventions, with projects focused on the Prevention and Control of Infections (PCI) of diseases with epidemiological characteristics, measures of’Eau Hygiene and Sanitation (EHA) and support of staff and health centers.
The CRf intervened in the east of the DRC on the response to the 10th Ebola epidemic for support to health structures in Prevention and Control of Infections ( PCI ) and EHA, consolidated during the 11th epidemic with emergency response teams, and the Covid-19 Response in North and South Kivu.
Today, the CRF has coordination in Kinshasa, and a sub-delegation in Bukavu ( Sud-Kivu ) opened in 2022, which oversees an operational base in Uvira ( Sud-Kivu ). In addition, coordination from Kinshasa to Bukavu is planned to be moved in January 2024 for operational reasons.

General mission of the DMI :
Placed under the authority of the/head of delegation and in close collaboration with him/her, the/the health coordinator is responsible for the planning and technical monitoring of the various programs and projects implemented in the field of health by the CRF in the DRC. He is also responsible for drafting project proposals, on technical aspects on health-related themes, in conjunction with the Programme Coordinator in the DRC. Il/it is in functional connection with the/the technical referents of the CRF headquarters in Paris.

Qualifications & experiences
Diploma of doctor of medicine and Master or DU in public health, and possessing at least 3 years of’ experience in the exercise of his functions of doctor practicing in PED (health district). In addition, 5-year requirement in the management and coordination of health projects – SMI, Primary health care, nutrition, HIV Aids, nutrition, etc.
