Job Title: Conflict Analyst Researcher (Consultant)

Job Summary

  • As a Conflict Analyst Researcher Consultant, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing research activities in Nigeria, Mali, and Niger Republic. The research project aims to investigate the intricate relationships between climate change, conflict, and development in these regions. The study will explore how climate change exacerbates conflicts and how conflict responses can address climate change, with a particular emphasis on adaptive strategies and peacebuilding efforts.
  • You will utilize a comparative case study approach, integrating both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Your work will involve conducting literature reviews, data collection, analysis, and engaging with stakeholders to provide insights that will inform policy and practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate research activities in Nigeria, Mali, and Niger Republic.
  • Design and implement research strategies focusing on climate change, conflict, and peacebuilding.
  • Conduct literature reviews, data collection, and analysis using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to ensure research findings inform policy and practice.
  • Produce high-quality research reports and publications.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. or MSc in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in research, with a focus on climate change, conflict, and peacebuilding.
  • Proven experience in research design, data collection, and analysis.
  • A strong track record of relevant publications (please include a list of contributions in your CV).
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Fluency in French and English
