Street Child is a UK charity, established in 2008, that aims to create educational opportunity for some of the world’s most vulnerable children Street Child began its work in Sierra Leone in 2008 working with a small number of street children, eight years later we have helped to transform the lives of more than 50,000 children across Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nepal. In 2017 we launched our first project in Nigeria helping children impacted by conflict in the North East to access education.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of children’s protection needs, including those who have been affected by armed conflict, displacement, and other forms of violence.
- Identify and prioritize children and families requiring case management and support services.
- Develop and implement individual case plans that address the specific protection, psychosocial, and reintegration needs of children.
- Provide direct counseling and support to children and families, utilizing child-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approaches.
- Collaborate with community-based structures and organizations to ensure timely and appropriate support for child protection concerns.
- Facilitate and coordinate family tracing and reunification processes for separated and unaccompanied children.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, and service providers, to advocate for the protection and well-being of children.
- Document all case management activities accurately and timely by relevant guidelines and standards.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of child protection and reintegration programs, contributing to the measurement of impact and outcomes.
- Contribute to capacity-building initiatives for community members and partners on child protection systems and best practices.
- Should know and be able to use the Primero interface.
- He / She shall also undertake any other role or responsibility assigned by the CP program manager.
Reporting:
- The caseworker will report directly to the reintegration officer.
- Represent Street Child at coordination meetings at the community level and report minutes to the reintegration officer.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, child development, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in child protection, case management, and reintegration, preferably in humanitarian or conflict-affected settings.
- In-depth understanding of child protection principles, international standards, and national legislation.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
