Preston Associates International Development Limited (Preston Associates)is a development sector research organisation, established in 2013 and headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. We are committed to enhancing development outcomes in Africa, especially in health, governance, education, gender, child and youth development. We provide evidence for improved development outcomes through research; and we specialise in providing technical support to our clients in the areas of programme design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning across the development sector spectrum.
For almost a decade, our engagements have cut across evidence generation and use for system optimization through Monitoring, Evaluations, Research, Accountability, Sustainability and Learning, performance management, program and system evaluations, impact assessments, governance systems (including accountability mechanisms and inter-sectoral coordination frameworks), and cost model analyses, etc. Our clients, partners, and donors consist of international and domestic non-governmental organisations, national and state-level government agencies/parastatals.

Purpose
- The purpose of this role is to create awareness of and enhance Preston Associates’ brand and services that will lead to an increase in partnerships, donors, clients, and consultants on all online and media platforms. As a communication strategist, you will be responsible for driving the approved strategic communication plan of the organization.
Key Roles, Responsibilities
- Develop communications strategies showcasing Preston Associates services to the public and targeted audience generation leads including but not limited to partnerships, donors, government, policymakers and decision-makers.
- Develop and execute comprehensive brand and social media marketing strategies to support the organization’s business objectives and attract donors, clients, partners, projects and target audience
- Develop and ensure sector relevant articles, write-up and posts are articulate, research-oriented, accurate and grammatically sound.
- Develop contents for social media and news outlets.
- Manage all Preston Associates’ social media platforms including LinkedIn (special emphasis), Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and others
- Expand Preston Associates social media presence
- Generate professional content for digital marketing Ads
- Design informative and professional newsletters to generate engagement on all platforms
- Directly manage media engagement and cultivate media contacts
- Collaborate with PR team to ensure consistency and coherence in contents across Preston Associates’ communication channels.
- Support internal communications initiatives
- Foster a vibrant online community across all social media platform by engaging with followers, initiating conversations, responding to comments, messages and inquiries in a timely and professional manner Identify and collaborate with influencers, bloggers, and industry partners to expand Preston Associates reach and build strategic partnerships
- Track, analyze, and report on key social media metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
- Monitor industry activity and trends to identify new opportunities and potential risks
- Collaborate with the appropriate departments to brainstorm new and creative growth strategies for all social medial platforms
- Utilize organization’s service updates for social media campaigns
- Manage the organization’s reputation and respond promptly to mitigate potential risks
- Stay updated with social media trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve Preston Associates’ social media presence and engagement
- Ensure that all content aligns with the communication strategy and adheres to the organization’s tone and style
- Ensure all work is original and adheres to development sector best practices, rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- 3-4 years of work experience as a Communications Strategist, Social Media Manager, or similar role, preferably in the Development sector.
- Experience working in a creative agency is an added advantage
- Proficient knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Proficient Knowledge of LinkedIn is an added advantage.

- Ability to develop creative content (text, image, and video)
- Proficient communication and copywriting skills
- Excellent ability to identify target audiences, sales leads and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, fetch and covert leads
- Creative thinking and ability to generate engaging. unique and original content idea
- Proficient use of social media management and analytics tools
- Excellent knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools is a plus
- Proficient use of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), keyword research and Google analytics
- Ability to lead integrated social media campaigns from concept to execution

- Strong storytelling abilities and the capacity to convey complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner
