We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Communication Intern – Copy Editor

Location: Akwa Ibom
Project: ACE 5
Job Nature: Full Time

Job Description

  • The position holder will support the communication team by providing copy-editing support for several publications on an as-needed basis.
  • Ensure that all written products meet various donors’ standards for content, grammar, spelling, punctuation, readability, and appearance.
  • Ensure that products follow the ECEWS style guide for specific usages of terms, style, tone, etc.
  • Suggest revisions to text to improve clarity and readability.
  • Ensure that citations and references are properly formatted using Chicago Manual of Style guidelines and other USAID requirements.
  • Ensure that written products are reviewed within deadlines.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • A minimum of First Degree in English Language, Linguistics, or Mass Communication.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a translator, editor, or publishing officer in a reputable publishing organization.
  • Versatility in I.T. skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • A high-level oral and written communication skill.
  • A methodical working style.
  • High level of concentration, accuracy, and great attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay focused throughout an entire document, which may be long.
