We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Technical Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time (Permanent)
Reporting To: Managing Director

Position Summary

  • The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the company’s technical operations, engineering projects, and technology strategy.
  • The CTO ensures efficient execution of complex power, engineering, and construction projects, while driving innovation, compliance, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of engineering and construction projects.
  • Lead technical innovation, research, and adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute the company’s technology roadmap in alignment with business strategy.
  • Supervise all aspects of engineering services, project management, and technical execution.
  • Manage technical teams, ensuring high-quality delivery within budget, timeline, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with external partners, regulatory bodies, and government agencies for licensing, permits, and compliance.
  • Ensure full compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and financial protocols.
  • Conduct detailed feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical audits.
  • Provide technical leadership during negotiations, client meetings, and strategic presentations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Sc./HND in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced business degree is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in technical leadership roles, with at least 5 years managing large-scale engineering or construction projects.
  • COREN, NSE, IEE membership (or other recognized professional engineering certifications).
  • Demonstrated success in project planning, budgeting, financial management, and cash flow monitoring.
  • ERP systems proficiency; Primavera, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and other engineering software.

  • Advanced technical knowledge of power management, distribution, construction design, and development.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional planning, budgeting, and financial reporting skills.
