Position Summary
- The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all revenue-generating activities.
- The role is responsible for driving business development, client relationship management, strategic partnerships, and ensuring the achievement of financial and commercial targets.
- The CCO ensures that customer satisfaction, contract integrity, regulatory compliance, and business growth objectives are achieved in alignment with corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s overall business development strategy.
- Lead efforts to identify new markets, customer segments, and emerging opportunities both locally and internationally.
- Drive revenue growth and profitability by securing long-term contracts and partnerships.
- Manage and strengthen existing client relationships while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Represent the company in negotiations, industry conferences, regulatory bodies, and governmental interactions.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration between operations, finance, legal, and technical teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Ensure full legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance for all commercial agreements.
- Analyze sales and market data to monitor performance and adjust business strategies proactively.
- Oversee tender preparation, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution processes.
- Provide high-level leadership, mentorship, and coaching to business development teams.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- B.Sc./HND in Engineering, Marketing, Law, or a related discipline.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 15 years of senior-level commercial experience, ideally in construction, oil, power, or energy sectors.
- Proven record of developing high-value contracts, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Extensive experience managing multi-million-dollar projects.
- ERP proficiency and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Membership of relevant professional organizations.
