Domeos Resources International – Our client, a key player in the Hospitality sector, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chef

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Reports to: Business Manager
Direct Reports: None

Main Function

  • The Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality meals and catering services for guests staying in the Airbnb properties.
  • This includes curating menus, sourcing ingredients, and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Role Responsibilities
Meal Preparation:

  • Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and other meal options as required by guests.
  • Create customized menus to cater to diverse guest preferences, including dietary restrictions.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared and presented to high standards of quality and taste.

Inventory and Sourcing:

  • Manage the kitchen inventory and ensure the timely procurement of fresh ingredients. Establish relationships with local vendors to source high-quality supplies at competitive prices.

Hygiene and Safety:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage of ingredients.
  • Implement and maintain kitchen cleaning schedules to ensure hygiene standards.

Guest Interaction:

  • Engage with guests to understand their culinary preferences and provide memorable dining experiences.
  • Respond to guest feedback and adapt menus or preparation styles accordingly.

Budget Management:

  • Monitor kitchen expenses and ensure meals are prepared cost-effectively without compromising quality.

Competencies / Skills

  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience as a chef, preferably in hospitality or short-term rental settings.
  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and creativity in food presentation.

  • Passionate about food and customer service.
  • Adaptable and able to handle diverse culinary requests.
  • Calm under pressure with a positive attitude.
