Job Title: Business Manager (with experience in a Law Firm)

Reporting to: Principal & Practice Partners
Working Condition: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Travel: Occasional travel for business meetings and industry events
Job Summary
- Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Manager with a strong background in legal services.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the firm’s operations, driving business growth, optimizing financial performance, and enhancing client relations.
- This role requires strategic planning, operational efficiency, and business acumen to ensure the firm’s long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Business Operations & Strategy:
- Develop and execute business strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee daily administrative and operational functions, ensuring smooth law firm operations.
- Identify opportunities for growth, process improvement, and innovation within the firm.
- Develop performance metrics and operational policies to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with legal industry regulations and firm policies.
Financial Management:
- Manage the firm’s financial operations, including budgeting, expense control, and financial forecasting.
- Oversee billing, collections, and financial reporting to ensure profitability.
- Work closely with accountants and financial consultants to manage tax and compliance matters.
- Monitor revenue streams and implement strategies to increase firm profitability.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Identify opportunities to expand the firm’s client base and increase client retention.
- Oversee client care programs, ensuring excellent client satisfaction and service delivery.
- Collaborate with lawyers and partners to enhance client engagement strategies.
Business Development & Marketing:
- Implement marketing and branding initiatives to improve the firm’s visibility and market position.
- Develop and manage business development strategies to attract new clients and expand legal services.
- Supervise the preparation of proposals, RFPs, and pitch materials.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Represent the firm at networking events, conferences, and industry meetings.
Human Resource Management:
- Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, staff development, performance evaluation, and retention strategies.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and productivity of staff.
- Foster a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, professionalism, and growth.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business management, operations, or administration, preferably in a law firm.
- Strong understanding of legal business operations, financial management, and compliance.
- Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and revenue growth.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal practice management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Benefits
- Salary: N300,000 – N400,000 Monthly.
- Competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
