WHAT WE DO …
SOLIDARITY INTERNATIONAL (SI)is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been helping people who are victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to the vital needs, drinking, eating, sheltering. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, food security and means of’. Present in more than 20 countries, the SI teams, 3000 people in total, composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers…intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.
THE MISSION
Since 2018, Solidarity International has been operating in Burkina Faso, mainly in the North Central, North Central, Mouhoun Loop and Sahel regions, responding to the urgent needs of populations affected by security degradation. SI develops food security, EHA and emergency shelter interventions through projects ranging from emergency to development. The mission is experiencing significant growth and is currently structured into five operational bases in Ouahigouya, Kongoussi, Djibo, Sebba and Dori, as well as a coordination base in Ouagadougou.
SI is a member of the RRM-Frontline consortium, led by ACF and in partnership with HI and DRC, under funding from the GFFO and DG-ECHO. The mission also collaborates with other national or international actors such as AGED, UNIJED, PUI, GRET, Groupe URD, IRC. Since 2019, the mission has been working with, the organization is implementing a comprehensive multisectoral response to urgent needs and the rehabilitation of displaced populations, funded by BHA. Its SAME (Health, Food, Means of Existence) and EHA (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) portfolio has gradually evolved. The mission is currently funded by ECHO (3 contracts), BHA, GFFO, CIAA, AFD, Europaid and AEAP and wishes to position itself on SRF funding at the beginning of 2024, FHRAOC and CDCS. The mission’s estimated budget in 2023 was 14 million euros.The mission wishes to develop its partnership strategy and has a dedicated position as Head of local partnerships.
DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
GENERAL OBJECTIVE :
Preparation of project proposals in connection with the grant coordinator, contractual monitoring of projects and in charge of preparing reports, focal point communication of the mission.
SPECIFIC CHALLENGES AND CHALLENGES :
Restructuring of the department in order to better meet the requirements and challenges of the department, Reinforcement of the teams in terms of reporting and understanding of donor expectations and co-financing on the mission.
PRIORITIES ON THE FIRST 2-3 MONTHS :
Preparation of the regional project proposal ( BFA / MLI / NER ) in consortium with PUI for the SRF, ECHO final reports.
YOUR PROFILE
DIPLOMA : Generalist higher education: Master in international relations, development and humanitarian action, political science or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE IN THE HUMANITARIAN SECTOR : At least 02 years in the humanitarian field (preferably in the field of emergency programs).
EXPERIENCE ON EQUIVALENT POSITION : At least 03 years
TECHNICAL SKILLS :
1. A first experience in the humanitarian sector
2. Grants management, knowledge of the various donors
3. Coordination of the drafting and preparation of project proposals
CROSS-CUTTING SKILLS :
1. Autonomy
2. Stress management
3. Excellent writing and representation skills, clarity, precision and ease in the’ oral and written expression

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
An employee position : According to experience, from EUR 2,310 gross per month (2,100 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a Per Diem monthly of USD 550.
SI also covers accommodation and travel costs between the expatriate’s country of origin and the place of employment.
Breaks : During the mission, a system of alternation between work and leave is set up at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarity International). In addition to these break periods, there is one additional day of rest per month worked.
Social and medical coverage : Expatriates receive insurance that reimburses all health costs (including medical and surgical expenses, dental and ophthalmological care, etc, repatriation) and a contingency system including war risks. Vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are reimbursed.
CONDITIONS OF LIFE : The post has’a care by SI in guest (housing) common including house staff (cooks and maintenance agents)
SECURITY : The security situation in Burkina Faso has been deteriorating sharply since 2021, which was further accentuated in 2023 and 2024. This impacts the post by very strong constraints in terms of humanitarian’access that can change abruptly, imposing a capacity of’adaptation and the formulation of innovative and flexible solutions and modalities to allow the continuation of’an effective humanitarian assistance, pledge of a confidence of the donors.
