Job Title: Assistant Technical Manager

Description
- We are sourcing for a resourceful, innovative, and experienced Assistant Technical Manager to join our team.
Objectives
- To advise the Chamber on physical development of Trade Fair facilities; assist in design and maintaining standard layout befitting an International Trade Fair; ensure optimal and professional space allocation at the Trade Fair site. General Monitoring and Maintenance of the Chamber’s Properties, liaise with Property Managers of the Chamber.

- Director, Trade Promotions/Principal Technical Manager
To supervise:
- Senior Officers, Officers, Project Personnel.
Principal Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve electrical and mechanical equipment and systems for Lagos International Trade Fair and other specialized exhibitions
- Assist in carrying out surveys and physical assessments of venues/spaces to evaluate the functional state of the facilities/services and recommend fitness for the Lagos International Trade Fair and other specialized exhibitions
- Assist in the design and production of floor plans and site layouts for the Lagos International Trade Fair and other specialized exhibitions
- Assist on space allocation to exhibitors in an efficient and professional manner, advise on construction of structures required for exhibitions of products and services and ensure it is orderly and professionally done
- Ensures that all infrastructural facilities required for the Fair are put in place well in advance and initiates action on remedial work in liaison with management of the Trade Fair venue
- Ensures that all technical documentations required for the successful hosting of the Fair are put in place and brought to the notice of the concerned Committee
- Initiates technical review meeting at the end of each Trade Fair in order to assess achievements and highlight lapses for future improvement
- Assists in the preparation of technical aspects of Trade Fair budget, work plan, project chart, monitors expenditure concerning the approved budget and recommends variation when circumstances demand.
Main Tasks
- Assist in preparation of budget and tender documents.
- Contract administration and project supervision.
- Secretariat duties to Building and Operations Committees of the Chamber
- Conduct Pre-fair and Post-fair facility condition assessment and advise on the state and suitability for Trade Fairs
- Prepare specifications and scope of work for project works to be executed within the department. Prepare necessary documentations, drawings, estimates, price surveys and case studies to be used as basis for tendering by contractors
- Produce report on tenders submitted and advice as necessary
- Prepare letter of contract award to contractors
- Advise and certify quality of work done and recommend for payment
- Secretariat duties to;
- Building Committee of the Chamber
- Operations Sub-Committee of the Trade Promotion Board
- Organize meetings and produce meeting reports for the above Committees
- Conduct and supervises contractors before, during and after the Trade Fair
- Ensure all facilities are evaluated and fixed properly for the annual Trade Fair
- Any other task or responsibility as may be assigned
Job Requirements / Competencies
- Education: The prospective candidate must be an Engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) with experience in cooling technology and facility management.
- Experience: 8 years cognate experience and minimum of 3 years as in the capacity of a supervisor will be a good advantage. The candidate must also demonstrate experience in core functions of technical operations.
Skills:
- Communication Skills: Excellent Communication skills (both in written and in verbal form)
- Ms Office: A candidate for the position must be highly proficient in the use of Ms office, AutoCAD, proficiency, teamwork, eye for details and analytical skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: A candidate for this position must have an ability to prioritize tasks completing multiple tasks in a timely manner, be flexible and welcoming to change, have an ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision, and be self-motivated. He or she must also be a prompt decision maker, be a strategic and creative thinker, have excellent problem-solving skills, have a positive and easy-going attitude, demonstrate strong work ethics and integrity, and demonstrate calmness and composure in times of uncertainty.
