Job Overview

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Finance Manager with experience in finance and accounting, preferably within the IT/technology sector.
  • The ideal candidate will support financial operations, budgeting, compliance, and strategic decision-making while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Monitor cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury operations
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (FIRS, LIRS, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and audit requirements
  • Oversee account reconciliation and general ledger integrity
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, and liaise with auditors
  • Supervise junior finance staff and support capacity building
  • Participate in financial planning, cost control, and pricing strategy development
  • Support project-based accounting and grant/contract compliance
  • Review and improve financial systems, processes, and controls
  • Use financial data to support strategic decision-making and risk analysis

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification (in progress or completed)
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience with 2+ years in a supervisory role, preferably in the tech or service sector.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and financial compliance
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho, or ERP systems)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and data analysis capabilities
