BUA Cement Plc is the result of a merger between CCNN Plc and Obu Cement Company Plc (formerly Obu Cement Company Limited). Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) was incorporated in 1962 and commenced operations in 1967, with an installed capacity of 100,000 mtpa at Kalambaina, Sokoto State.

Job Title: Asset Manager

Location: Lagos

Externally Relates To: External Service Providers

Job Summary

  • The Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the value of the company’s oil and gas assets.
  • This includes managing the lifecycle of exploration and production assets, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring efficient operational performance while maximizing returns on investments.
  • The ideal candidate will have a solid background in petroleum engineering, project management, and financial analysis, with strong leadership skills to drive strategic initiatives.

Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Specifically, the candidate’s duties will include:

  • Oversee the performance of company’s primary asset, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Manage asset(s), development, production, and eventually decommissioning. Ensure proper planning and risk management at each stage of the asset’s lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to monitor asset performance, implement production optimization strategies, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and manage asset budgets, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and conduct regular financial evaluations to maximize return on investment.
  • Work closely with senior management to shape the company’s asset portfolio strategy. Identify opportunities for asset acquisitions, divestitures, and operational improvements.
  • Liaise with joint venture partners, regulatory bodies, and internal teams such as finance, legal, and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) to ensure smooth asset operations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to asset performance, including financial, operational, and environmental risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Geosciences or a related field. A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or similar postgraduate business degree and/or experience is a plus.
  • 15 years of experience in asset management within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on upstream operations.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas exploration and production processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive performance improvements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, data analysis, and using industry software (e.g., reservoir simulation tools, asset management systems).
