Job Summary
- The Area Sales Manager (ASM) in the lubricant industry is responsible for overseeing sales operations, meeting targets, and managing the sales team within a designated geographical area.
- The ASM ensures effective execution of sales strategies, builds and maintains strong customer relationships, and drives revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve targets and expand the customer base.
- Analyze market trends and competitors to identify opportunities and threats.
- Coordinate with the Regional Sales Manager to set sales goals and objectives.
- Conduct regular visits to customers and prospects to promote products and services.
- Monitor and manage the sales pipeline to ensure steady progression towards sales targets.
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in sales operations.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned area.
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales strategies with market needs.
- Manage the sales budget for the assigned area, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Track and control expenses to stay within budgetary limits.
- Propose and implement cost-effective sales strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the lubricant industry or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Frequent travel within the designated area.
