Job Title: Accountant
Location: Agungi, Lekki – Lagos (Island Residents Only)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Role Summary
- The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the management in strategic financial planning.
- The ideal candidate must have experience working within a dynamic and growing business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
- Maintain and update general ledger and accounting records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or other tools).
- Handle all statutory remittances (e.g., PAYE, VAT, Pension, WHT) and ensure timely filing.
- Monitor daily transactions and reconcile bank statements.
- Track and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare payroll and ensure timely salary disbursement in collaboration with HR/Admin.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all transactions and generate financial reports for management.
- Conduct periodic internal audits and assist with external audits.
- Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures.
- Track company expenses and advise management on budget adherence.
- Monitor inventory spending, procurement costs, and suggest cost-cutting measures where applicable.
- Support procurement with cost analysis and vendor payment plans.
- Liaise with external accountants or tax consultants where necessary.
- Support pricing, financial forecasting, and budgeting efforts.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2 – 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in fashion, retail, or FMCG.
- Must be currently enrolled in the ICAN program and actively writing professional exams within one year of obtaining ACA certification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate financial data clearly.
- Must reside on Lagos Island or immediate environs (Ajah, Lekki, Ikate, Agungi, etc.)
