Youngstars Foundation is one of Africa’s unique, life-changing youth organization operating in Abuja, Nigeria. From a weekly youth club in a local barber shop in 1995, Youngstars Foundation is growing to emerge as one of the lead youth non-profit that is building young people and strengthening youth organizations involved in development programs in Africa. Youngstars Foundation is now in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), and is registered with CAC Nigeria as Youngstars Development Initiative (CAC/IT/NO 21517) and in Ghana as Youngstars Development Initiative (G.21, 431).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of the budget
  • Assist in implementing and updating financial policies and procedures
  • Assist to prepare and reconcile financial statements
  • Assist to establish and maintain vendor accounts
  • Assist to ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system
  • Assist to document income and expenditure
  • Assist to manage requests for extra-budgetary expense
  • Assist to prepare the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
  • Assist to manage the annual audit process with auditors
  • Assist to maintain financial files and record
  • Assist in the Analyzing of expenses and present findings on a monthly basis to the management
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements for the annual report.
  • Other Finance-related roles.

Skillset Requirement

  • Out of the box thinker and a doer
  • Excellent verbal and interactive communication skills.
  • Good understanding of NGO accounting, Knowledge in managing School accounting will be an added advange.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in cloud software applications (Skydrive, Dropbox, Google Docs)
  • Proficiency in accounting applications (Quickbooks and others)
  • Ability to multi-task, respond rapidly and work without supervision.
  • Have sense of detail, positive and team spirit.
  • 2-3(or More) years’ experience
