Job Title: Informatics System Analyst

Purpose of Position

  • We are seeking to recruit an Informatics System Analyst to join the Health Informatics team with an overarching role of ensuring project supported products satisfy program objectives and user expectations.
  • As a member of the product development team, the System Analyst will be responsible for gathering program requirements, analyzing the needs, documentation and dissemination of functional and non-functional requirements.
  • The system analyst will bridge the gap between stakeholders, quality assurance and engineering teams through existing stakeholder mechanisms, and will be responsible for interpreting business requirements into understandable development tasks to match a final software product with the expected business value. In additional, he/she will be responsible for documentation, capacity strengthening, supporting product deployment and implementation, and will also work with the QA team in evaluating software functions and designing test protocols to ensure that products works as intended
  • The Informatics System Analyst will report to the Informatics Advisor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing detailed system specifications and design documentation based on business requirements.
  • Creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups using design and prototyping tools
  • Participating as an early team member, contributing to designing critical pages, interactions, and user experience elements
  • Drive the requirements engineering process from planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, and implementation of business requirements and help translate these into technical requirements for digital tools.
  • Development and successful delivery of stakeholder engagement strategy to support Business Analysis and Quality Assurance
  • Translation of business requirements into clear and concise functional specifications for technical teams.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with the project’s strategic goals and technological capabilities.
  • Assist the Informatics Advisor in managing and facilitating health informatics-related meetings and forums.
  • Develop flow charts, wireframes, and prototypes and support the UI/UX activities in the design process.
  • Participating as an early team member, contributing to the design of critical pages, interactions, and user experience elements
  • Work with the QA team to support user-side quality assurance and testing procedures, including identifying bugs, issues, and new requirements.
  • Validate that requirements and user expectations are achieved during the testing process.
  • Support internal and external capacity-building activities.
  • Spearhead the planning and documentation of technical specifications of information systems design and features.
  • Support compliance with the organization and global best practices and standards, including the principles of digital development for health information systems supporting the program.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics or similar field.
  • 5 years of experience in Business and System Analysis supporting development and implementation of digital tools specifically relating to technology and data solutions in a data driven environment.
  • Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Good stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Exceptional time management skills and solid interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal skills in English; ability to communicate technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Solid technical background with understanding or hands on experience in development and implementation of Information Systems that support health and social protection programs will be an added advantage.
