Job Profile:

The HI Consultant is expected to facilitate the implementation of the LAMISPlus databases especially providing support to the northwestern states of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara and Kano. The summary of the role includes:

Front-end Technologies:

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript: Solid understanding of web development technologies for building user interfaces.           
  • Front-end Frameworks: Familiarity with popular front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Back-end Technologies:

Java Frameworks: Proficiency in back-end frameworks like SpringBoot.

Web Services:

  • Knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL web services for communication between the front and back end.

Databases:

  • Database Management: Experience with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). ORM (Object-Relational Mapping): Familiarity with ORM tools like Hibernate.

Version Control:

  • Git: Proficiency in using Git for version control and collaboration.

Testing:

  • Unit Testing: Experience with unit testing frameworks, such as JUnit or TestNG.
  • Integration Testing: Ability to perform integration testing of full-stack applications.

Full-Stack Development:

  • Proficiency in both front-end and back-end development, and the ability to work on the entire software stack.

Continuous Learning: 

  • A commitment to staying up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends.

The Key Result Areas include:

  • Oversee the work being done by other software engineers working on the team, coordinating team activities with other teams and product groups, maintaining software architecture standards.
  • Consistently defines and applies technologies, standards and software engineering practices, mentoring other team members
  • Develop key product features within existing large-scale enterprise applications & new strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in architectural and database design discussions as they relate to product direction.
  • Create design specifications, documentation, and unit testing plans as defined by the Agile development process.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must possess a first degree in related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 Year cogent web development experience preferably in the NGO setting

Skills and competencies: 

Technical:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), presentation skills.
  • Attuned to and comfortable with the culture/traditions of the people.
  • Proficient using intermediate-level office software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, spread sheets and database. Will develop new and maintain existing modules in LAMISPLus.
  • Proficiency in Java: A strong foundation in Java programming is essential, as it is a fundamental language for full-stack development.
