We are a youth-led Not-for-Profit Organization advocating against sexual violence, providing prevention mechanisms and supporting survivors with psychosocial services. We advocate for rape survivors who can’t speak about their ordeal due to stigmatization, by enlighten our community on the need to end rape and victim blaming. We use various platforms to educate people and also engage in interactive sessions via social media. We are working towards the day when rape is part of history, rather than a part of our everyday lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Programs Officer at STER, you will play a crucial role in our mission to combat sexual violence and promote consent education. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Program Coordination: Overseeing the development, planning, implementation, and management of our programs.
  • Project Monitoring: Participating in project monitoring and supportive supervision of partners, project sites, and communities, ensuring the effective execution of our initiatives.
  • Advocacy: Managing and overseeing the implementation of all advocacy-related programs at STER, advocating for change and social reform.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing annual project strategies, work plans, budgets, and team project schedules to drive our mission forward.
  • Compliance: Ensuring the establishment and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for all program activities, ensuring the highest standards of quality.
  • Innovation: Initiating new program ideas, developing concept notes, and crafting grant applications for funding opportunities that align with STER’s strategy.
  • Reporting: Conducting program reviews and preparing comprehensive reports for donors and management to showcase the impact of our work.
  • Execution: Planning and executing program activities with precision and timeliness to achieve our goals.
  • Partnerships: Identifying and reaching out to potential program partners to expand STER’s reach and impact.

Requirements, Knowledge and Expertise:

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Minimum of a Degree in Economics, Management, International Development, Social Sciences or a related field.

Passion for Justice:

  • A deep commitment to social justice and human rights, underlining your motivation to make a difference.

Initiative:

  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, prioritize tasks, work collaboratively in a team, and excel in a fast-paced environment.

Organisational Skills:

  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills to keep projects on track.

Communication Skills:

  • Proficiency in quality report writing and project analysis.

Tech-Savvy:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google packages (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Docs, Drive).

Experience:

  • Solid experience in project management, grant writing, fund management, and budgeting, preferably within an NGO or INGO context.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of local languages is highly recommended.

Willingness to Travel:

  • A willingness to travel to all project locations as required by the role.
