Job Title: Auditor
Location: ilupeju, Lagos

Job Description
- Collating, checking and analysing spreadsheet data
- Examining company accounts and financial control systems
- Gauging levels of financial risk within organisations
- Checking that financial reports and records are accurate and reliable
- Ensuring that assets are protected
- Identifying if and where processes are not working as they should and advising on changes to be made
- Preparing reports, commentaries and financial statements
- Liaising with managerial staff and presenting findings and recommendations
Responsibilities
- Reviewing Financial Records: Auditors examine and verify financial statements, ledgers, and supporting documents to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards and regulations.
- Evaluating Internal Controls: They assess the effectiveness of an organization’s internal control systems, identifying weaknesses and recommending improvements to mitigate risks.
- Ensuring Compliance: Auditors ensure that financial activities and reporting adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Identifying Risks and Fraud: Auditors are responsible for detecting potential risks, including fraud, and recommending measures to prevent or minimize them.
- Preparing Audit Reports: They document their findings, including any discrepancies or areas of non-compliance, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborating with Stakeholders:Auditors work with various stakeholders, including accounting teams, management, and external regulatory bodies, to address audit findings and implement recommendations.
- Developing Audit Plans:They may also be involved in developing and implementing audit plans, ensuring efficient and effective audit processes.
Requirements
- Education: BSc in Accounting
- Experience: 2 – 3 Years
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Auditors need to be able to analyze complex financial data, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions.
- Attention to detail: Accuracy is crucial in auditing, so a keen eye for detail is essential.
- Excellent communication skills: Auditors need to be able to communicate their findings clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards:A solid understanding of accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and auditing standards (e.g., GAAS) is crucial.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools: Auditors may need to use accounting software, data analysis tools, and other relevant technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance: A relevant degree is typically required.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA): While not always mandatory, professional certifications like the CPA can enhance an auditor’s credibility and career prospects.
- Experience in auditing or accounting: Relevant experience is often preferred, especially for more senior roles.
Salary
N150,000 – N200,000 / month.
