AKHIN (Save the Street Child Foundation) is a non-profit organization located in Osogbo with a vision to provide a nurturing and loving space for homeless youngsters in Nigeria. AKHIN provides an alternative learning space that provides accommodation, clothing, food, medical care, behavior rehabilitation, and skill development training aimed at developing their potential and reintegrating them back into the society

Job Title: Assistant Video Production Officer
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- As an Assistant Movie Producer at AKHIN Foundation, you will play a vital role in shaping and executing the creative vision of our documentary and storytelling projects.
- You will work closely with the production team to ensure the successful development, production, and post-production of our films.
- Your primary focus will be on storytelling and documentary projects, requiring a deep understanding of narrative structure, research, and an unwavering commitment to storytelling excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Development: Collaborate with the production team to identify and develop documentary and storytelling project ideas. Conduct extensive research and market analysis to determine project feasibility and audience engagement potential.
- Script and Storyboard Creation: Assist in creating and refining scripts, treatments, and storyboards. Ensure that the narrative elements align with the project’s objectives and target audience.
- Casting and Crew Management: Help coordinate the casting process, including auditions and talent selection. Assist in assembling and managing the production team, including directors, cinematographers, and editors.
- Budget Management: Work closely with the producer and production manager to manage project budgets effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
- Location Scouting: Assist in scouting and securing appropriate locations for shoots, considering the visual and storytelling requirements of each project.
- Production Coordination: Support the coordination of pre-production, production, and post-production activities, including scheduling, logistics, and equipment management.
- Creative Input: Offer creative insights and ideas to enhance the storytelling and visual aspects of each project. Collaborate with the director and other creative team members to achieve the desired artistic vision.
- Quality Control: Maintain a high standard of quality throughout the production process, ensuring that storytelling elements remain cohesive and impactful.
- Legal and Rights Management: Assist in acquiring necessary permits, licenses, and clearances for footage, music, and talent. Ensure compliance with copyright and legal regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of project progress, expenses, and post-production activities.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields.
- Camera handling
- Professional video editing
- Prior experience in film or documentary production, with a strong focus on storytelling.
- Proficiency in scriptwriting and storyboarding.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a creative team environment.
- A genuine interest in social and cultural issues, as well as documentary filmmaking.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and priorities.
