Job Description
- The Senior Electrical Engineer will oversee project teams, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, managing project timelines and budgets.
- The role holder will also act as a technical advisor and represent the client in professional settings, including client meetings, industry conferences, and regulatory engagements.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the design of complex power systems (e.g., renewable energy systems, grid integration, and power distribution networks)
- Review and validate engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for grid-connected and off-grid systems.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with engineering regulatory standards
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress to timely delivery.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, offering guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
- Review team outputs, promote knowledge sharing, and enforce engineering best practices.
- Foster a collaborative, safety-conscious project environment
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and cross-functional teams to align execution.
Person Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable university.
- COREN certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing complex power projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, or similar).
- Experience with renewable energy is highly recommended.
- Strong knowledge of power system design, load analysis, and energy efficiency optimization.
- Detail-oriented, self-starter, and able to work independently.
- Trustworthy, organized, and proficient in written and verbal communication.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
