Job Title: Chief Engineer
Location: Festac, Amuwo Odofin – Lagos

Description
- The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations within the property. This includes ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems, as well as maintaining the property’s physical assets in top condition.
- The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and energy conservation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the engineering and maintenance team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all equipment and systems.
- Oversee repairs, maintenance, and installations of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and health regulations.
- Manage energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for specialized maintenance and projects.
- Prepare and manage department budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and guest requests related to engineering issues.
- Train and mentor engineering staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or a related technical field).
- Minimum of 7 years’ engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role(preferably within the hospitality industry).
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems and equipment.
- Proven leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and facility management software.
- Professional certification (e.g., COREN, NSE, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
